# Data import (CSV)

> Bulk import residents, belongings, and recurring billing with templates and dry-run review.

**Data import** helps Managers and Administrators onboard data faster than manual entry.

## Open data import

Go to **Settings → Data import** (Administrator hub).

## Supported imports

Typical templates include:

* Residents
* Resident belongings
* Recurring billing schedules

Download the template for each type before filling data.

## Import workflow

    Use the official CSV template — column headers must match exactly.

  <Step title="Fill and upload">
    Enter rows in Excel or Google Sheets, save as CSV, and upload.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Dry run">
    Review validation results. Fix errors before committing.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Commit import">
    Confirm to write records to your facility. This cannot be undone in bulk — verify carefully.
  </Step>

## Permissions

CSV import is limited to **Manager** and **Administrator** by default.
