# Violations

> Track compliance violations, corrective actions, and resolution status.

**Violations tracking** records deficiencies found during inspections or ongoing compliance reviews.

## Log a violation

Enter violation code, description, severity (minor through critical), due date, and corrective action plan. Link the violation to a parent [Inspection](/compliance/inspections) when applicable and assign responsible staff.

## Resolve violations

Update corrective actions and advance status from **open** or **in progress** to **resolved** (sets resolved date) or **appealed**. Critical items should appear in compliance alerts until closed.

## Export

Export violation lists or print detail **PDFs** for survey follow-up documentation.
