# Notifications

> View, filter, and manage in-app notifications and alerts.

The **notifications bell** in the page header shows facility and personal alerts.

## Open the notification center

* Click the bell icon on any authenticated page, or
* Go to **Notifications** from the profile menu

## Notification types

Examples include:

* Compliance expirations (permits, certifications)
* Incident escalations
* Task assignments
* HHSC report status
* Billing and subscription events (Administrators)

## Mark as read

Open a notification to view details. Many notifications link directly to the relevant page (for example a resident profile or compliance document).

## Email alerts

Configure which emails you receive under **Profile settings → Notifications**. Facility-wide email rules may be set by Administrators.

Critical compliance alerts also appear on the [Compliance overview](/compliance/overview) and [Dashboard](/daily-operations/dashboard).
