# Community events

> Schedule facility events, outings, and resident activities with optional notifications.

**Community events** schedules birthdays, holidays, family visits, outings, therapy sessions, recreation, staff meetings, and other facility activities.

## Create an event

Managers and Administrators add title, event type, location, start and end times, all-day flag, linked residents, and optional family or staff notification flags.

## Calendar integration

Events appear on the [Centralized calendar](/utilities/calendar) alongside tasks, appointments, and compliance dates.

## Staff access

Staff can view events when the page is enabled. Creating and editing events requires Manager or Administrator access unless your permission matrix grants Staff write access.

## Filter

Filter by event type and search by title or location.
