# Emergency drills

> Plan, conduct, and evaluate fire, tornado, lockdown, and medical emergency drills.

**Emergency preparedness** plans and documents emergency drills — fire evacuation, tornado or shelter-in-place, lockdown, and medical emergency scenarios.

## Schedule a drill

Create a drill with type, scheduled date, location, lead, description, default checklist, and resident participants. Status moves from **scheduled** through **in progress** to **completed** or **cancelled**.

## Conduct and evaluate

During the drill, add staff and resident participants and mark checklist items complete. After completion, record evacuation time, resident accountability, performance ratings, and follow-up actions.
