# Training Curriculum

> Manage required training topics and track staff completion for each statutory requirement.

## Overview

ImaraCare maintains the complete mandatory training curriculum for boarding home staff. All topics are sourced from the statutory requirements for boarding home operator and staff training. The **Curriculum & Assignments** tab in Training Management gives you a complete view of every required topic, per-staff completion progress, and outstanding assignments.

## Annual renewal topics

The following topics require renewal every 12 months:

* Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation
* Emergency Procedures — Contacting Emergency Personnel
* Assisting Residents with Self-Administration of Medication
* Injury, Incident, and Unusual Accident Reporting
* Emergency, Evacuation, and Disaster Plans

When a recurring completion expires, ImaraCare automatically creates a new assignment with a 7-day completion window.

## Viewing the curriculum

Go to **Staff & HR → Training** and click the **Curriculum & Assignments** tab. Each topic row shows:

* Topic name with a **One-time** or **Annual renewal** badge
* Completion window (days from assignment date)
* A progress bar showing how many assigned staff have completed the topic
* A **▾** button to expand the full topic description

## Assigning a topic to a staff member

1. Click **Assign Topic** in the top-right corner of the Curriculum tab.
2. Select the staff member from the dropdown (only Active staff are shown).
3. Select the topic from the curriculum list.
4. Set a due date.
5. Click **Assign**.

The assignment appears immediately in the **Pending Assignments** panel and on the staff member's Training Records.

## Marking a topic complete

Find the pending assignment in the curriculum view or Training Records tab and click **Mark Complete**. The system:

1. Records the completion with a timestamp.
2. Re-evaluates the staff member's [Resident Contact Clearance](/staff-hr/contact-clearance) status.
3. If all pre-contact topics are now complete, clears the **Not Cleared** badge automatically.

## Completion window

Each topic has a **completion window** — the number of days from assignment date by which the training must be finished:

* **7 days** — high-priority topics (abuse prevention, medication, emergency, incident reporting)
* **14 days** — knowledge topics (resident rights, complaint process, health services, facility services)
* **30 days** — certifications (CPR/First Aid, if applicable)

Assignments not completed within the window are automatically flagged as overdue.
