The Notice of Privacy Practices (NPP) tells residents and their representatives how your facility uses and discloses their protected health information (PHI). HIPAA § 164.520 requires covered entities to maintain a current NPP and document acknowledgment.

Where to find it

Go to Settings → Data → Notice of Privacy Practices.

Acknowledging the current version

1

Open the Data tab in Settings

Go to Settings → Data.
2

Locate NPP section

The current ImaraCare NPP version and your last acknowledgment date are shown.
3

Review and acknowledge

Click Acknowledge NPP (or Re-acknowledge NPP if already current) to record that your facility has reviewed the current version.

What is recorded

Each acknowledgment stores:
  • NPP version number
  • Timestamp of acknowledgment
  • User who performed the acknowledgment
A full acknowledgment history is visible in the same section.

When a new version is released

ImaraCare will show an Action required badge when a newer NPP version is available. Re-acknowledge as soon as practical to remain compliant.
NPP acknowledgment in ImaraCare is an internal compliance record. You are still responsible for distributing your facility’s NPP to residents at or before their first service.
