The eMAR (electronic medication administration record) replaces paper MAR sheets with a timestamped, audit-ready log.
Run a med pass
Open eMAR
Go to Resident care → eMAR or use Med pass on the dashboard.
Select a resident
Choose the resident from the list or search.
Administer or refuse
For each due medication, click Administer and confirm details, or Refuse and document the reason.
Scheduled medications
Due times appear on the resident’s schedule. Late or missed doses remain visible for compliance review.
PRN (as-needed) medications
PRN entries appear in a separate section. Each administration requires:
- Reason for giving the medication
- Outcome or observation after administration
This documentation is stored on the resident’s medical record.
Refused medications
Document refusals promptly. Refused doses count toward compliance metrics and appear in medication history.
Correct a mistaken entry
Never delete medication history. Use Correct on the entry, provide a reason, and sign the correction. The original entry remains in the audit log per Texas documentation rules.
View history
Open the resident profile Medical tab for full administration history — administered, missed, refused, and corrected entries.
See FAQ — eMAR for permit-level documentation questions.
