Overview

When you disagree with a violation finding, you have the right to appeal within a deadline set by your licensing authority. ImaraCare tracks the appeal deadline, filing status, hearing date, and outcome for every appeal.

Fine accrual

Unresolved violations accrue daily fines from the day after the compliance deadline passes. The current accrued amount is shown on the violation row with a per-day rate. Accrual stops when:
  • The violation is resolved (remediation accepted by the authority)
  • An appeal is granted
  • The fine is waived

Filing an appeal

  1. Open the violation in Compliance → Violations.
  2. Click File Appeal (available until the appeal deadline).
  3. Enter the grounds for appeal — be specific about why the finding is incorrect or the penalty is disproportionate.
  4. Attach any supporting documents (photos, logs, expert opinions).
  5. Enter the deadline date as specified by the licensing authority.
  6. Click Submit Appeal.
The violation status changes to Appeal Pending. Fine accrual continues during the appeal unless the authority grants a stay.

Tracking appeal progress

The appeal panel on the violation detail shows:
  • Filing date and deadline
  • Grounds submitted
  • Hearing date (enter when scheduled)
  • Decision: Granted, Denied, or Withdrawn
  • Decision notes

Appeal outcomes

Always file appeals within the deadline. ImaraCare shows a countdown badge on violations with open appeal windows. Once the deadline passes, the appeal option is disabled.
